The award winning photo series, Love Your Postpartum, is coming back- rebranded simply as Postpartum.

Celebrated London, ON photographer Mikaela Shannon decided on a few simple changes after becoming a mother of two, realizing "Love Your Postpartum” doesn’t fit for everyone, and inclusivity is incredible important to her.

“Not everyone loves postpartum - me specifically. I want to acknowledge this and not feel, or put pressure on people to love it. I for sure as hell didn’t love it. Postpartum anxiety took me full swing with Stormi and made the fourth trimester brutal.”

 

Shannon has also highlighted the fact that ‘postpartum’ isn’t just the first few weeks, or the first few months after having a baby- it’s every stage of parenthood that follows. Postpartum bodies are constantly changing, as are the mental roles every parent takes on over time, and all of it deserves to be captured, and celebrated.
 
The other notable change being made, is that Postpartum shoots will now come with a fee (a price list is still being determined), as offering these beautiful sessions for free is no longer sustainable.
